PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy statement explains how Asset Management Consulting Limited (trading as AMCL) and/or its group companies (“we”, “us”, “our”) collect information from you via our websites (the “Website”) and associated online platforms, or in any manner expressly described in this privacy statement, and how the information is then used. References to “you” means the user of the Website or associated online platforms.

AMCL processes personal data for numerous purposes, and the means of collection, lawful basis of processing, use, disclosure, and retention periods for each purpose may differ. When collecting and using personal data, our policy is to be transparent about why and how we process personal data. To find out more about our specific processing activities, please go to the relevant sections of this statement.

What personal data do we collect?

Registration is not required for you to use the Website. If you are a visitor, we do not collect any personal information about you, except to the limited extent through the use of cookies, which is described below. However, there may be circumstances in which you choose to give us personal information, such as in the cases set out below. In these cases, AMCL may contact registrants to provide them with information about our services, publications and products, invite them to events, or for other marketing purposes.
These are the most common scenarios for data collection and the data processing we do for each:

  1. Email alerts
    In order to sign up for email news and/or event alerts, we will ask for your email address and full name via a form online. We may also ask for other details such as job title, city, country and email preferences. You can unsubscribe at any time. We will keep your details as long as you are subscribed to provide you with your preferred email alerts, and once you unsubscribe we will keep your email address as a means to ensure we don’t contact you in the future.
  2. Job applications
    Our site, as well as some affiliated sites we work with, allow you to register your interest in working for us or applying for an advertised vacancy. If you are not appointed to the role for which you apply, we will keep your completed application form, CV and other information on file for a reasonable period in order to contact you with alternative employment opportunities, unless you do not want us to do so. We provide you with an opportunity to opt out of the retention of your personal data for such purposes, at the time of submission of your application form. If you are invited to attend the secondary stages of the UK recruitment process, you will be asked to provide documentation of your eligibility to work in the UK.
  3. Publication access
    Some of our publications (whitepapers, reports, research pieces, apps) may be made available only to users who sign up. This will be made clear by a form presented before you can download, be sent or view a publication. The type of information required will vary but it will include your email address and full name. We use your information for internal research and analysis purposes to help us understand who is reading our publications and to follow up with you with relevant information where applicable. You are able to unsubscribe at any time.
  4. Surveys
    We may at times conduct surveys, opinion polls or other sentiment collection methods via our Website and associated online platforms. Participants will be asked for personal information such as your email address and full name, in addition to opinions and feedback. This information will be used in the context of the survey and not for any other purposes unless clearly stated.
  5. Event registration
    On occasion, AMCL may facilitate event registration via a form on our Website or associated online platforms. The personal information we collect may vary depending on the event, and AMCL may share registrant information with third parties, but only when they are associated with the running of the event. Examples of “third parties” include hotels or venues, sponsors or co-sponsors, promoters, event organisers (including via third party websites), speakers, panellists, etc.

If you give us information about another person, we will take this as confirmation from you that they have appointed you to act for them, to consent to the processing of their personal data including sensitive personal data and that you have informed them of our identity and the purposes (as set out in this privacy statement) for which their personal data will be processed. Where you provide information about referees, you should ensure that they have given their permission.

Information collected when you sign up via our Website and associated online platforms are protected using industry-standard encryption technology, which we require from all Website technology providers and associated platform providers.

If you register on our Website, your personal information may be stored in our contacts and marketing database (CMD) system. The data of users who have signed up will remain in our CMD system for as long as we require in order to maintain an effective relationship with you unless you ask us to delete your information. If you wish to be excluded from our CMD system, please contact us.

Please note that instances of data collection other than the ones mentioned above may have different applicable retention periods, for example, our client contracts. If you wish to know about your data’s retention period, please contact us.

We may supplement the information you provide during sign up with other publicly available data that is associated with the data you have provided. For example, if you provide your name and email address, we may supplement this information on our CMD with your company name.

How do we use personal data?

We may use the personal data you provide via signing up on our website and associated platforms, as well as supplementary information from other sources as per above, for the following purposes:

  • to administer and/or improve the Website;
  • to fulfil your requests for publications, thought leadership, news alerts and others if you have signed up for them;

We may disclose personal data to our successors in business in the future but only for the purposes outlined in this privacy statement. We may also disclose personal data in order to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

For quality control and training purposes, we may monitor or record your communications with us.

Please also note that if you submit a photograph of yourself as part of your CV, it may reveal sensitive personal data about you which we wouldn’t have otherwise collected. Other than for job application purposes, we will not ask for, or store, sensitive personal data. We ask that you do not provide sensitive personal data to us when using our website; if you choose to do so for any reason, the act of doing so constitutes your explicit consent for us to collect and use that information in the ways described in this privacy statement or as described at the point where you choose to disclose this information.
